The How, What, & Why
Problem: There is more to a flea and tick problem than just on the pet. Adult fleas feed on the pet and then their droppings (dried blood) feed their larvae that are on the floor indoors and on the ground outdoors. Once the larvae develop, they then pupate and wait in the pupal stage until they spring out of their pupal casing as they sense the CO2 and temperature of an animal nearby.
Solution: It is essential to target the stages of both fleas and ticks on the floors indoors. All the floors indoors need to be treated. For hardwood floors, a liquid spray is generally the preferred method of treatment (such as our Flea/Tick Yard and Home Spray).However for carpets, liquids just sprayed from a sprayer have a hard time penetrating down to the base of the carpet where the eggs and larvae are feeding on the dried blood scat has dropped from the adult fleas. Our carpet shampoo additive can be used by itself as the shampoo foaming agent or tank mixed with commercial shampoo formulas. By being applied through a carpet shampoo machine (commercial or consumer) it will kill flea larvae by contact during the treatment.
